I am doing PGDM right now and I love economics. Is it possible to do PHD in economics if I do MA economics from IGNOU(distance)?

I would like to study economics while working because it is not possible for me to spend two years in MA economics through regular mode. Therefore I am planning to do it through correspondence, but I don't know whether I would be eligible to do PHD in economics after that from a reputed institute.

    Hi,
The eligibility criteria for Ph.D varies for every institute. However, the basic requirement is a Masters degree or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline. So your idea for M.A Economics is good but it is advisable to opt the same from a recognized university.
To help you, would like to share few prominent and renowned names in the domain of distance education:-
    Indira Gandhi National Open University
    Sikkim Manipal University
    University of Mumbai
    Delhi University
    Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University
    Karnataka State Open University
Feel free to revert. In case it resolves, close the thread by liking it or marking as best.
