Admissions into IIMs are based on competitive Common Admission Test (CAT) score. To get into a top IIMs, one needs to at least score 98+ percentile in the test and then clear the personal interview (PI) round at the institute. You also need to have scored a minimum of 50% at the graduation level.

Yes, at IIMs, there is some quota for SC/ST and a separate merit list if prepared for them.

You need to take CAT exam and then if selected, appear for essay writing and interviews to be shortlisted for the MBA program at IIM-A.

1st of all crack CAT 2018 exam. If you are freshers then score above 99 percentile then have a possibility to get a call for GD-PI. If you have experience then minimum CAT cut-off is 80 percentile and other facts also matter.

You should first clear CAT exam with a good percentile. It is conducted each and every year. It is also considered as toughest exams in India. Take up coaching in good Institute and attend CAT and join an IIM.
