Hi Sunita, The minimum eligibility required to be met for admission to the course is a 10+2 qualification from a recognised educational Board with Physics and Mathematics as two of the main subjects with a minimum aggregate score of 50%
A few institutes in India also conduct a Common Entrance Examination for admission to the course wherein admission is based on the candidates performance in both 10+2 examination and the entrance test. -
Hi Sunita!
The first step towards this profession is to acquire a Bachelors degree either in the physics / mathematics with honours or a Bachelors degree in engineering with a relevant trade like Computer Science, Electronics and Communication etc. After acquiring this Bachelors degree in the physics/mathematics or for that matter in engineering one has to go for master degree followed by a Doctorate to do research of such a high level. For doing Ph.D. one should appear for the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST)
