I am in 12th and want to pursue mass communication. What preparation do I need for the same to make my career in it?

Hello Soumya, You will be eligible to take up journalism in any recognised university if you score above 55% in your 12th exam (any stream). Students who have cleared their board exams with English as one of the best four subjects can apply for this course. After 12th, you can take up BA in journalism and mass communication. Some colleges offering this course on the basis of the 12th board exam result. But, a few colleges do conduct entrance tests for this. Delhi University carries out a Common Entrance Test for Journalism (CETJ) for the Bachelors course. At Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, there are two rounds of interview. The first round is Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) which includes objective questions. The second round consists of writing ability test as well as personal interaction. SRM University takes in students for BA journalism on the basis of their 12th marks. Bachelors in journalism and mass communication is usually a 3-years course.
