I am in 12th standard and want to know about aerospace engineering in MIT. How is it? Should I join or not?

Aerospace engineering deals with designing and building machines that fly. It is one of the newest branches of engineering, and began in the 19th century with the first experiments in powered flight. As technology progressed, two specialties emerged; aeronautical engineering, which involves designing aircraft such as powered lighter-than-air craft, gliders, fixed-wing airplanes and jets, autogyros, and helicopters; and astronautical engineering, which focuses on the design and development of spacecraft.

It is a branch which offers you an exposure to aerodynamic and design and other aspects, which are important for aerospace engineering. It provides good opportunity for the students to excel in the field. If you are interested, then join the college under the interested branch.

The B.Tech program in Aeronautical engineering deals with the design, construction, maintenance, safety and study of science behind various aircraft and their components. For a better learning process, students are exposed to case studies and problem-based learning, brainstorming, written tests, computer simulation, group discussions, industrial training seminars, technical seminars and projects. Students are placed in organisations dealing with products and services related to the aerospace industry and software solutions such as Tata Consultancy Services, Atkins Aerospace, Honeywell, Accenture, etc. Eligibility: - Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects. Further admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal Entrance Test - MET 2019. The total course fee is about Rs 1,550,000/ and will be paid in four installments. Now coming to the scope for aeronautical engineering in the country, So there are very few govt. sectors like DRDO,HAL and NAL recruits graduate engineers through the GATE or their own entrance test. So, it is tough to secure a job post. So, in short I'd say, the scope for aeronautical engineering in India isn't great. But of course, Master’s degree from an IIT or NIT would definitely help, but these are later things. On the other hand ICAS and The University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane, Australia (UQ) have partnered to bring science students an articulation program with a tailored study program comprising two semesters taught at ICAS, paving the way for direct entry into year 2 of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) program at UQ. So in my opinion you should go with ICAS programs because these programs have great scope and acceptance in India.
