the maths in commerce is basic mathematics. the syllabus is completely different. for example in commerce maths you have permutation and combination, fractions, linear equations, simple interest etc. the maths in commerce is accounting based and very limited.

If you are trying out to pursue engineering the cbse maths which is a common syllabus mathematics for both science as well as commerce will not do any good because it is just based on basic accounting and some basic physical mathematics.
