I am in class 12th with biology, physics & chemistry as my subjects. I want to pursue genetic engineering, is maths necessary to pursue it?

I am from Andhra Pradesh and I scored 97% in class 10th and took BIPC since MBIPC was not available.

math is not necessary . but you need basic knowledge about 11-12th grade mathematics . as there are chapters like gene mapping . industrial biology . gene manipulation . culture . where you need basic mathematics like log , calculus . so be prepared :)

    Hello,
Maths is not compulsory. You just need basic knowledge of 11th-12th mathematics and that is enough for what is required. Good luck.

    Hi,
    BE Genetic Engineering Eligibility:
The basic eligibility criteria for a graduate degree (BE /B.Tech) is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the biology. Or, Bachelor's degree in Science or molecular biology.
    Thanks.
