I am in science stream HSC, and I want to pursue biotechnology sector. Is it a good field to study in India? How do I study abroad?

I currently gave the 12th exam and am yet awaiting my results. Meanwhile I am going to appear for JEE Mains as. I have taken PCMB in science and I am interested in both Maths and Biology. I am confused, I dont want to pursue medical but biology parallel careers. Can you guide me in that query?
