Firstly, make sure, you do the course and study very well. And that helps you gain confidence in your subject. Now, as far as the job scene is concerned, keep your options open. Hone your programming skills, aptitude and reasoning skills through free online courses and books. Do it from 3rd year itself. On a regular basis like say couple of hours every week. And also improve your soft skills - check out ways and means to make effective resume, and how to communicate in interviews, and participate in group discussions. Be courageous and present yourself very well. Just make sure your skills are improved over a period of time.
