    Hi Shyam,
    As rightly stated by Pooja Kohli , it is not possible for a commerce student to take up marine engineering as this is completely science field and requires the students to be from same stream,

    Hi Shyam,
    To get into any Engineering programme you need to have a Science background with PCM as subject combination, so as you are from commerce background you would not be eligible for this programme.

    How far I know, almost all engineering courses ask for Physics, Chemistry and Math as the basic subjects for further studies in the field of engineering. In marine engineering too, a candidate is required to have his 10+2 done with Physics, Chemistry, Math.s. Indian Maritime University is a central university in Tamil Nadu and conducts Engineering Degree in Marine discipline. For eligibility norms visit http://www.imu.tn.nic.in
