I am little concerned about how universities (LPU) and institutions will address social distancing when students join university/ institute?

I'll put the example of LPU. It is the largest private university in terms of the number of students and campus size. It has set up of $ 1mn fund for research and innovation for the Covi-19 fight, this lead to a plethora of innovations and developments at the campus. More than 5 of LPU's initiatives have featured in top 20 measures all across India. The campus is being sanitized daily whether there is student strength or not. Movement without masks has been abolished in campus. All the social distancing norms can be easily practiced in LPU as its campus is huge and there is space capacity to do so. In house hospital: A massive inhouse hospital is already there in case of any urgency. Thermal scanners: These have been placed at all the entries and exits of university, in every department and block. Regular advisory: Regular advisories are floated on the University APP, which is mandatory for all the staff and students to have. Food: The good quality food of mess is being delivered into the hostel rooms so that there is no bog gathering. Classes: As off now, all the classes and tests are being curated online, LPU will obviously follow the guidelines by government when the campus re opens for next academic year. Faculty : The faculty is being regularly sensitized about the precautions and safety measures. Rules for movement: The strict rules and regulations are in place for movement of people within the campus so as to minimize the rush. CCTV cameras are already in campus for enhanced safety and surveillance for ensuring the adherence to rules. There are many more points which I cant enumerate because of lac of space. Hello! LPU is taking all the measures in this pandemic situation. Following are the measure followed by LPU : To ensure the safety of students who would be residing in hostels, university has planned following initiatives: Regular Thermal scans for every individual entering the hostel premises. Respiratory Masks to be worn by everyone at the time of leaving the room. Sanitation of hostel rooms and other infrastructure facilities like common rooms etc. Including play areas as per government norms Timing of consuming food in the Hostel mess to be staggered to ensure social distancing norms. Option of packed food and room service is also being explored. Walled campus with authorized contactless entry and exit by following the government norms of social distancing and sanitation. University HOSPITAL university Hospital situated at the heart of the campus is fully equipped to take care of the medical needs of the staff and students and is operational 24x7 with following facilities to manage all sort of medical emergencies. 25 bedded hospital staffed with well qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians. Full time qualified doctors including a general physician, pathologist, ophthalmologist, dentist along with a physician from traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine. Visiting specialists once a week for providing specialty clinics. Tie up with Twenty-five hospitals for referral cases requiring specialised medical intervention. Equipped to provide various services such as handling emergencies, minor surgeries at 24X7 Chemist shop where medicines are available at subsidized rates. Qualified psychologists available for counseling. Physiotherapy OPD available with experts for handling cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, sports and pediatric physiotherapy. Specialised labs have been set up including Electro diagnostic and Electro therapeutic modalities, Orthopedics and Sports Rehab, Neurological Rehab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, and Pediatrics Rehab. Hi,There are multiple measures taken at the University to ensure safety and security during COVID times. They include :- CAMPUS PREPAREDNESS: Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university. All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government. Till now university management played a very good role in handling everything which is important in pandemic. Before the actual lockdown university sent us to home for our safety and as per the government orders then they provided each and everything to us through online mode using ( UMS, LPU Live app, Googlemeet). Even when government declared the national lockdown and covid 19 started moving towards peak, University started the work from home policy for all staff. Those students and staff who were not able to reach at home due to some reasons, LPU took care of them very effectively. The protection of students and educational facilities is particularly important in this grim situation. LPU would make sure the workplaces are clean and hygienic, surfaces (e. g. desks and tables) and objects (e. g. telephones, keyboards) would be wiped with disinfectant regularly Because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU would make it mandatory to wear masks. Hospital of the campus is fully prepared to handle such situations.
