I am looking to do my master abroad in Canada. I completed my b.tech in this year 2016, can some one advise me on how to approch it?

try to score a minimum of 7 bands per your requirements (increases for graduates). After that approach a well known foreign advisor and have a full discussion . GOOD LUCK
