Hi Divya,
To be eligible to pursue a Ph.D, it is important to have a Masters in a similar discipline and without which you are not eligible for the same.
As per the information provided by you, you can certainly opt for PhD in English but not psychology.

Hi Divya, You may not be able to do phd directly through certificate course in psucho. You may have to do your pg in psychology which is the first step in obtaining a doctorate. After that you have to write your NET/Slet/phd entrance exam through which you can get a doctorate.
