You will have to give CAT, as CAT is conducted by IIMS themselves, as a first step for selection process. You can try for the next year.

Yes, there are over 50 MBA entrance exams in India out of which, about seven are conducted at national level. Candidates can opt for CMAT MAT XAT IIFT SNAP GMAT ATMA instead of CAT. Hope it helps.

You cannot apply for IIM without CAT score. They look for CAT score before accepting your admission. It is better that you first appear for CAT get a good score and then apply for IIM. All the best.

You can't get admission in IIM. They conduct CAT for admission and they only take CAT qualified. So, you got no chance than appearing for CAT.

In today's time, all we want is a high placement from a college, so prefer the best college for MBA. No matter from where you pursued your Bachelor's degree, go for CAT preparation. If you will score around 99-100 percentile, you may get a call from IIM.

There is no other way to get into an IIM. You have to take UPCAT, as it is exclusively conducted by the IIMS. So, please start preparing, if you want to achieve your goal of studying from IIMS.

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
