I am now studying in 12th. I want to get admission in a govt. engineering college. How many marks do I need in TNEA exam for the same?

It's very good that you are aiming for government engineering colleges because the degrees of government colleges are more of value in the market. In Tamil Nadu you just need board's marks for a good college, not the entrance.

It's very heartening to know that you are interested in getting admission in a government engineering college. Nowadays, admissions in Tamil Nadu are based on marks obtained in 12th and not on any entrance exam. This year was the first year in this fashion. But as a rule of thumb I can say that you should be in 80 percentile for admission in a government engineering college.
