You cannot give the main exams but you can surely appear for compartmental exams of CBSE which occur after the announcement of main exam's result.There is only not as such rule mentioned anyone (according to me).

Yes you can CBSE have option to give compartment and even if any person fail in compartment CBSE give another chance in next year class 12 th boards exam to those students.
