I am pursuing B.Sc in chemistry honors. Will there be any problem during placements due to my class 12th marks? I scored 48% in class 12th.

That depends heavily on whether placements in your institute consider 12th marks as a qualification factor. Most colleges do not consider 12th marks as a deciding factor during placements and if this is the case in your institute, I don't think you should have a problem. In any case, you should check with the placement cell in your college if 12th marks would be an issue during placements.
