Yes, the GMAT scores are accepted by almost 500+ good MBA colleges all over India.

You should write GMAT if you're going abroad to pursue MBA or a master's degree. If you're looking to do MBA in India then you can take up CAT XAT MAT etc. To get into top B schools.

Iims accept GMAT scores for MBA admissions into their 1-year full-time MBA programs. However, for their 2-year PGP programs, Indian students are required to submit CAT scores.
