Hello Nitya, One can attempt GATE while in final year of engineering. The syllabus consists of whatever is taught in that particular branch. I would like to advise you that you concentrate on learning in your engineering classes. This will help you in cracking GATE easily.

Hi, there is no restriction on number of attempts. Can you elaborate first comment please?

You can give the exam of GATE when you complete your B.Tech.

Many of GATE preparations start from 2 and year and students start preparing for GATE. From 2 year. So, they can gain success and you can only give exam in last year for GATE.

You can attempt it during your 8 semester. You can start your preparation for the exam now.
