I am studying 10+1 from NIOS, what are the suggestions/tips that can make me a good game designer after my 10+2?

I would recommend that as you study for your 10+2, you start practicing sketching to begin with. Try to observe things closely and sketch them. You can also buy good sketch books from the market for sketching including shading, shadows, and human figures. However, soon you may have to upgrade to more serious books like "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richards William. You could also study composition by reading "Composing Pictures" by Don Graham. Later on you may take up a Degree (multimedia and animation). Arena also offers such a Degree. You must also know that, to become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, Only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. So choose a program that teaches you these software. It would not matter whether the programme is called game design programme or not. Rest, to become a level designer you must have a passion for game design. Also you must have passion for playing all kinds of games including card games, dice games, sports etc. May I ask, have you ever designed a game? Hi Shekhar, To join game designing courses, 10+2, will be enough. There is no requirement of minimum marks. The only requirement is that the school or board should be recognized by the government. Some gaming institutes also take graduates from any discipline. This will vary from institution to institution. But there is no set criterion for admission into game designing courses. In gaming there are two parts, 1. the designing part, 3D modelling and texturing and lighting etc . the other is the integration part. But why you only want to limit you in game designing, i suggest you to go for an animation course, where it will make you prepare for the whole animation industry including gaming .
