There's no need to waste a year. Listen, scoring high in JEE Mains is not a tough thing. It only requires your obidience. Covering all your chapters thoroughly in class 12 will help you. NITs don't have any precribed cut-offs for students. For general category, admission in NITs are quite tough. It doesn't depend on your score, it depends on your rank, AIR.
