Ideally, you should start the preparation in third year. You can take coaching from various institutes. You can also get online coaching for it.

I would suggest you watch Ravindrababu GATE lectures on YouTube or better join a coaching institute. There are so many centres for GATE coaching available. Just google GATE coaching centres in your area, I'm sure you'll find a good centre. Watching Ravindrababu lectures alongside would be great too.
