I am working in a software company for last 1 year, but I want to work in a government service like banks... But I am confused whether

I am workng in a software company for last 1 yr as tster, but I want to work in a government service... But I am confused whether I shud continue working here only ?Some people say Salary in I.T is good but I am on bench for 3 mnths .But some says working in govt services is goof for future.plz hlp
