Getting Visa from any country depends upon the purpose of your visit to that country. Tourist & Medical Visa, you can get almost immediately. Job visa takes time. Student visa requires a letter from the institution you are going to study.

I had contacted the college regarding that letter and they said we had sent it. What to do now?
