Hi Abhishek, Fashion designing is a field for those who have strong creative streak, it offers many career options if your passion and frame of mind align with your creativity and aspirations. You can pursue two programs in Fashion Design at LPU: 1) B.Sc. (Design - Fashion) 3 years. (6 Semesters) 2) B. Design (Fashion) 4 years. (8 Semesters) The eligibility is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent for both the programs. Dear Abhishek, After completing 10+2, you are required to identify the institute from where you can pursue fashion designing. There are various institutes such as Pearl academy, NIFT, NIFD, LPU and many more. You have to identify the institute in which you are interested. One of my cousin's friend who is pursuing her studies in LPU told that LPU offers more than 250 programmes including fashion designing. Following courses are offered: 1. B.Sc. (Design - Fashion)- 3 years (6 semesters) 2. B. Design (Fashion)- 4 years (8 semesters) The eligibility is: 60% with English Relaxation: 1. ). 5% to North East states and Sikkim candidates / Defence Personnel and their Dependents/Wards of Kashmir Migrants. 2. ). 10% to outstanding Sports Persons (I. e. You seem to be quite passionate about this course, so the best for you is if you must opt it quickly. Since it has a huge scope in India & outside of it. Although, it is interesting too. There are many top colleges for Fashion Designing. Arch College of Design & Business is the best one among them. This offers several types of fashion design courses in India. (a) B. To take admission, you must have successfully completed 10+2 in any stream with min 50%-60%. (may vary university to university). You need to qualify UCEED. You must have studied English at 12th as one of the main subjects. You can choose from a variety of fashion design courses depending on your interests. However, some of them demand Algebra at the 12th grade level. So, first and foremost, pick which path you wish to take. If math is your strong suit, you can pursue courses such as vehicle design, graphic/animation design, and so on. However, if you aren't interested in math, you can pursue a variety of careers such as fashion design, fashion communication, apparel/product/glass and ceramics/ jewelry /footwear/accessories design, and much more. She has discussed few points with me about her course:- She told me Study tours are an integral part of curriculum with visitation of architectural and prominent sites provides maximum exposure to learn technicalities of architecture. Fashion designing is a branch having a lot of scope and in LPU, they give a lot of exposure to students, through guest lectures from industry top shots, various in campus and out campus fashion shows, and also they have their own store where the studentscreations are showcased and sold.
