I completed my AME IN 2011.I want addmition in BE mechanical as a EXTERNAL. Can i get addmition in BE,,,?

Admission to engineering college is based on 10+2 PCM, min-45% marks. For B.Sc. graduates and Polytechnic diploma holders, lateral admission in 2nd year is given. AME is not a qualifying certification course for admission to B.E. There is also no provision as private or external candidate but you can take admission in 2nd shift(if college offers) or pursue through distance learning mode.
