I did complete my graduation in 2005 (47%). After a long gap, I wish to do MBA.Will the gap matter to take admission & placement?

No It wont be a problem
you can go for full time part time and executive mba
for full time you need to give entrance exams
Since you have Gap you need to give gap certificate if you dont have work experience if you have experienc then its okay
Entrance exams like cat and Cet require 50% in graduatio

Private school can be counted as experience you can show salary slip as proof
even family business can be counted as propreitor you just need proof on paper like balance sheet or proof of ownership
Part time and executive mba will be good for you since you can manage work side by side
