  • No. Candidates must qualify for NEET PG exam to participate in the Assam NEET PG counselling process. Apart from that, candidates must fulfill other eligibility criteria for the counselling process of Assam postgraduate medical courses.

No, the Assam NEET PG counselling application form will be available in online mode only. Candidates will have to visit the official website of DME Assam to register and then fill and submit the choices. Applications sent by post, or any other mode, will not be accepted.

Candidates should have qualified NEET PG with minimum cut off for Assam NEET PG counselling. The other eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Candidates must be the permanent resident of the State.

  • They should have an MBBS pass certificate from any college/institute/university affiliated with the Medical Council of India.

  • Candidates must have completed 1-year internship within the stipulated date as stated by NMC.

  • Candidates should have obtained a medical registration certificate from NMC or State Medical Council (SMC).

Last year, Assam NEET PG counselling was held for allocation of around 652 MD/MS and Diploma seats. This year, the number of seats may vary. The actual number will be known once DME Assam releass the seat matrix. Assam NEET PG counselling 2025 dates and schedule will be announced tentatively in the last week of September 2025.

Last year, a total of four rounds of Assam NEET PG counselling was held including mop up round. This year, a total of five rounds of counselling was held. The actual number of rounds depend on the number of vacant seats. The additional round of Assam NEET PG 2024 was conducted due to the lowering of the NEET PG 2024 cutoff to five percentile across categories.
