You will spend 2 years doing MBA. If it is not a reputed college, then chances are that it won't affect your salary or knowledge. You may learn and grow more on the job. Almost all the good MBA colleges select students for the next the next round of elimination based on the CAT scores. Thus, giving CAT is pretty much inevitable.

First of All GATE is Not For MBA it is For M.Tech. And Almost more than 80% Management Colleges take Admission Through CAT. there are Only Few Universities in India Which Conducts their Own Entrance for MBA. Better give CAT Exam. Otherwise You Didn't Find Any Good College . Doing MBA from any 3 rd Class and Cheap Private Colleges is Seriously Waste of time and money.

Hi Pooja,
It would depend on the kind of Institute you want to get into, if you want to get into a decent full time B-School like FMS, MDI etc. you need to appear for CAT or one or the other Management Examination. However, if you don't want to get into a full time programme then you can opt for a distance education or a correspondence programme, but I would also like to add here that Distance education would not hold great value in the job market, especially if you are a fresher, as Distance education programmes are generally suitable for those working professionals who have good amount of work experience.
Hope this will be of help. Fee...more -
You can go for any of the distance learning MBA programmes. I am personally very curious about IIM distance learning executive MBA courses being offered through NIIT. You can explore your options.
