    Yes it is! Having knowledge in mechanical engineering and shifting into ITBM is quite hard, because you have to learn from the basics and it will require more time to invest. But, if you have time and patience, then you will definitely get a good career change. As compared to Mechanical or Automobile industry IT industry have different approach, like learning about software industry, along with the platforms and other industrial costs, you need to learn about software and software development, and along with that as it says you need to have good knowledge about different domains. So, you can try.
