I fail in TyBsc Physics theory paper but pass in practical, am i allowed to give both practical and theroy exam in the month of october ?

I am appearing it from Mumbai University Board,I came to know that if a student appear for october exam(only theory) and then if he clear his exam with 1st or 2nd class, the result will only show pass class (correct me i am wrong).
