Yes, you will have to give compartment exam to complete class 12th. It is mandatory to pass in both exams.

Yes, you can give the exam and even if you fail in it you can go for NIOS board which means you have to clear 12th.

Yes you can give the exam next year. If you are completely failed then you have to give the exam next year. You can appear only for a single exam You don't need to give all the exams.
