There's no need of dropping the year brother. You'll easily get a seat in NIT. Although computer science & other top branches will be difficult, but branches such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical etc. will be available to you. Your all India Rank would be around 1,00,000. Dropping is never an option. It will lower down your abilities and confidence level.

There are very chances of getting selected in the top IIT's. Don't drop the year. u will get admission in 2nd or 3rd counseling. otherwise on the basis of ur score also u will be eligible to get scholarship and get admission in some of the reputed colleges/ institutes in India. I am suggesting u to check the further eligibility on the official links.

There are certain chance of getting admission in NIT's. u should not drop the year. regularly check the counseling schedules on the official website of JEE and JOSSA. Otherwise there are certain other colleges providing better education and placement services. like Lovely Professional University, VIT Pune, Jay pee University of Information Tech, Solan.

There is no need to take drop, you can get into nit, better try for your home state nits there chance will be good for admission.besides there is always a option of private collages.if at end u don't get into any nits and any good private collage then you can take year drop.but thinking about year drop from now is not a good idea.
