I got 138 marks in LPU-NEST. Am I eligible for aerospace engineering in LPU University?

Being an alumni I want to share my thoughts on this as my sister has done the same course from LPU itself. Aerospace is a specialized branch of engineering which deals with the skills and knowledge to design, manufacture and maintain spacecrafts, aircrafts, missiles and weapons systems. The course curriculum covers aspects of two branches of engineering - aeronautical and astronautically engineering. The course also focuses on new technologies in aviation, defence systems, and space exploration. It also includes aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials science, structural analysis and manufacturing. PLACEMENTS: Companies like Every year more than 550 companies visit LPU for placement purposes. Companies like Ashok Leyland, Bosch, and Siemens Home Appliances, Volkswagon, Unominda, Voltas, Anglo-Eastern Ship Mgt., Asahi India, Rockman (Hero group), Dharam Consulting, Samundra, Indo-MIM, Sandhar Technologies, JK Lakshmi Cement, Maruti, Lava, XL Dynamics, Asahi India, Cleanmax Solar, Elgi Equipments, VA tech Wabag, Thermax, Bristlecone, Tex Fasteners, GigaSolar, Westline Shipping, Raam Group, Nylocore Transmissions. First batch started in 2016 with class of 27 students, out of which 19 has registered for placements and 8 students decided to go for higher studies. Out of 19 students, 13 are placed (70% Placed) and still there are many placement drives to happen till the month of July to secure more than 100% Placement by offering dual offer letters to some students. Dear Nandini, I cannot tell you about the exact cutoff for aerospace engineering in LPU but can provide you with the details of this programme as my sister studying this programme at LPU. Aerospace is a niche area, the skills required in the industry are beyond the course curriculum of most of the universities. LPU has recognized this and developed the curriculum in consultation with the industry. It has even set up a center for space research with a mission control facility.LPU has set an ambitious goal of developing a satellite LPUSAT-1, which will be launched next year (2021) The Center will enable students and researchers to communicate with the International Space Station (ISS), download lives satellite images, and receive telemetry, Science/engineering data from nano-satellites and larger spacecraft The Center will act as a key facility in the field of space research for LPU as well as a virtual lab for Universities, Colleges and Schools in India and the neighboring countries of India A team of students, Visionauts, from Lovely Professional University have won the prestigious STEM Engagement Award in the 2019 NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge held at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. This marks the third consecutive occasion of a team from LPU getting selected to participate in the prestigious competition. Interestingly, the team also got an opportunity to interact with Sunita Williams, a NASA astronaut, and two-time spaceflight veteran, who attended the second day of the event. Hi Nandini, The university can better tell which course are you eligible for as per the LPUNEST score. However, I can share with you the details of the aerospace engineering programmes. The course for Aerospace Engineering has been designed for learners who intend to design aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and missiles. In addition, these engineers test prototypes to make sure that they function according to plans. These professionals also design components and sub-assemblies for these craft like engines, air-frames, wings. The course equips a student to be able to effectively build and communicate the solutions crafted using learnings from basic aerospace engineering, basic sciences, mathematics and computational skills and tools. He will have the ability to comprehend the problems and craft solutions in the field of Aerodynamics, Aerospace structure, Aerospace Vehicle design and propulsions. He will rightly apply the associated learning for the atmospheric Flight mechanics, Jet And Rocket propulsions, Gas Dynamics, and Space Flight Mechanics for the solutions to real world problems. He would demonstrate the ability to propose cost effective optimized solutions for the aerospace sector using a simulated environment of Computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing and computer aided engineering. As per the NIRF ranking, LPU is ranked 66th among all government and private universities. As per the The Times of India ranking LPU was at no 36. Recently, Gopalchetty Brahma and Vinay Kumar Reddy Andluri topped the youth category (over 18 years), while Sathwik Bikumalla won gold in the junior category (under 18 years) in the online competition prestigious International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) 2021. All three are Aerospace Engineering students at Lovely Professional University. IAAC 2021, one of the worlds largest astronomy competitions, registered over 4,700 participants, 1,300 of whom made it to the pre-final and final rounds. The participants were tested in their knowledge of astronomy and astrophysics.
