Yes, just focus on you under graduation degree and give main focus to the CAT exam preparation as IIM demands CAT score for admission and just 50% in the undergraduation degree the marks in 12th standard doesn't count at all.

Yes, your score in 12th is good and enough. Score well in your graduation too. And perform well in CAT. At least above 95 percentile to get calls from IIM.

To get into a top IIM you need to have more than 50% marks at graduation level and a score of 98+ percentile in CAT. Apart from the CAT score, you also need to clear the Personal Interview (PI) round.

There are some IIMs which gives less weightage to your 12th marks and more on your CAT score. You can try applying in these IIMs.

Yes, if you will score good marks in CAT then you can definitely get IIM. But remember, it's not that easy, you have to study really hard to get IIM.

Yes, in the selection procedure of IIMs there are so many factors included, which combined together to interpret a single result. And among those our high school marks are just one parameter. Different IIMs gives different. Weightage to such factors like IIM-A gives higher priority to your academics while IIM-B gives your work experiences as a priority and IIM-C gives your CAT score the prior one. So after combining all those factors a single result is prepared which is used as a calling criteria and different. IIMs uses different methods for it. So if you are targeting the top IIMs then go ahead.

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.
