If you want B.Tech in top NITs ( like top 10), a rank of at least 5000 to be safe). 99.5 percentile (1,000,000 candidates considered ): This is applicable for core branches in NITs (top 10), a rank of at least 15000 to be safe. 98.5 percentile: If you want any branch in any NIT, a rank of atleast
