Yes, you need to register for backlog to pass the subject. There is also a weighted of the attendance in your final marks calculation so by having good percentage of attendance you will have chance to secure marks as well as grasp most of the lecture being taught for that particular subject due to your regularity to attend class.

F grade which means fail. First of all don't worry about it. If you have scored some marks in your Continuous assessment, mid term and you have few marks in attendance you will just need 21 marks in the exam and the total of all should be 35 which was earlier 40. Now if you didnt scored well in all of them like CA Mid term and you don't have marks in attendance then things might be difficult for you. Then you need to score more in end term I mean the exam which you will give again. Lpu provides you with 5 chances if you get an F gradr and if you didnt clear it in 5 attempts then you will get backlog which surely no one wants and I would suggest you not to even think about it. So try to clear it in first attempt. You just need to register the course in the reappear section in LPU UMS.

Yes, if you got an F grade then you need to register for the backlog. F grade is a fail grade that you get after five reappears that is after five E grades. The cost to register for a backlog course is 1/10th of your total fees per semester (scholarship excluded). You can either register for the backlog course in the summer term or in the next semester subject to the availability of that course in that semester. You can choose your timetable according to your current timetable so that your subjects don't clash. You will get a proper message and notification regarding backlog registration as soon as the portal will open for the registration process.
