I had completed MCA in 2005 with 70% and have 11 years of IT experience. I am interested in Ph.D programme. Am I eligible for NET 2018?

Yes you can appear Candidates securing at least 55% marks in their Master's Degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. Are eligible to appear for the UGC NET exam conducted by NTA

Hello Sitansu, Yes, you are eligible for UGC NET exam. But make sure you fulfil all the eligibility criteria of the exam. You should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in post graduation if you are from the general category or if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category then you should have at least 50%

I think that the age criteria restricted to JRF programme and not for assistant professor. But I don't know which one I have to apply for enrollment of Ph.D programme.

The National Testing Agency is expected to conduct the June session UGC NET exam 2026 in the last week of June. The whole schedule will be announced on the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The notification is likely to be announced in the April 2026.
