I had passed my 10th CBSE in Mar'09 and I completed my 12th in Nov'11. Will this be considered a year's gap when I appear for placement?

Currently I am in 2nd year of my Engineering course. I have a GPA of 7.4 on average. I have seen in the eligibility criteria of e.g TCS. It was mentioned over there that 10th and 12th should be cleared in the first attempt.
