Hi Vivian, *** Aircraft maintenance engineers ( AME ) work in the engineering and maintenance department of an airline to ensure the availability of a safe and airworthy aircraft for an airline. *** A course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is not a degree but a license course and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this subject. This training course is rigorous and only a few institutes offer training on heavy aircraft and jet engines.
