i hav just writen my 12th exam........n m thinkin 2 do IPS......... I dont know how to apply n were to contact n what to study

Hi,
Well for sitting for Civil Service exams, you need to be a graduate from any discipline as UPSC offers to choose optional subjects as per your prior education and field of interest.
As you have written XII, now you can select any course of your choice, provided you possess keen interest and passion for the subject.
Take up a bachelor's degree in either of the arts/commerce/science subjects. You could even learn a foreign language and aim for an interpreter's job in the consulates and embassies. You must be a graduate of any degree of your choice. You have 4 attempts to write this exam. There are two modules one is Preliminary and other is Mains. Choose subject of your choice in Preliminary and Mains. There are enough training institutes which help you to be an IAS/IPS officer. Name of some institutes are Rau's IAS, Brillants and many more.
