I have 1year experiance in sql analyst so can i go for DBA is my experiance will count??

i have done BE(computer) after that i got job as sql analyst there i was generating reports as per specification on MS ACCESS,EXEL and copy and pasted queries i used SQL SERVER so now i want to apply for DBA my experiance will be count or not or i'll have to do any certifications? plz guide me
