What should be the strategy of choice filling to get a college of preference quickly?

Not at all if you belong to general category. If you belong to SC, ST then there is very low chance of getting admission in GFTI, IIIT which are not so good. You can refer to previous year cutoffs and can get a rough idea on how much rank these GFTI, IIIT closes admission.
