I have a fixed aim that I want to do mechanical engineering. So, is diploma better or class 11th then 12th?

    Of course, going for polytechnic is good if you want to be technically strong than those who are joining engineering after 12th. After joining Polytechnic, you will be technically sound already as compared to freshers coming from 12th. While those who are coming by doing 12th they will lack knowledge as compared to you. The 2nd important thing is you will not have to go for entrance exam while applying for Engineering. Sometimes, it's problematic to score in the entrance and get a good college. So, you will be on safer side if you go for Polytechnic. If you want to apply for a college like NIT or IIT then you have to do 12th and take t
