I wish to do PhD in mechanical engineering through Distance/correspondence. I have appaered in the MTech final sem exams, and results will be declaired in april-2013. Do Advice. Presently I am working in a PSU in an Executive position

If you are looking at education sector as your career then its good, or you can look at R&D .

With PhD you can make a fine career in the education line in mechanical engineering. The scope in industries is not that much widely spread for PhD's though large MNC's prefer doctorate degree.
