I have applied for JEE(Mains) & CBSE Improvement Exam. But if I was unable to give the improvement would JEE consider my last year's marks ?

I received the reply from Boards related to my Improvement Exam nearly 1 month late. I fear I might not get my Hall ticket on time. I have selected YES for Improvement in my JEE form. So if I couldnt give Improvement,would JEE make me ineligible for a rank or would they consider my last year's marks
