Technically speaking PGDM and MBA are similar. PGDM is offered by colleges approved by AICTE and MBA is offered by universities approved by UGC. PGDM is equivalent to MBA. Even IIMs offer PGDM not MBA.

A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the universities while the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Both are equivalent. And IIM'S also gives PGDM not MBA degree. Best wishes

Both the programme are management programs. PGDM offered by RBS (Rajagiri Business School) is granted equivalence by AIU (Association of Indian Universities). Both the programme have good scope but PGDM has a few advantage over MBA.
    1. There is scope for semester abroad programme and credits are transferred.
    2. All advance management courses dealt during the 2nd year are being taken by eminent faculty members from premier B Schools and from corporates.

although both have the same course curriculum, mba is a degree and pgdm is a diploma. A degree always holds an upper hand over diploma. however, never compromise on institute cz of this
