There are plenty of opportunities for software engineers in Government. All PSUs have internal IT department. You can look for IT opportunities in PSUs. You can look for opportunities with National Institute in Smart Governance (NISG), NIC, CDAC etc. You can join as Technical officer in Armed Forces
