I have completed B.Sc in biotechnology. Should I opt for M.Sc in microbiology or prepare for SSC exam?

    The choice is entirely yours. M.Sc in microbiology will open up different avenues for you in the scientific and technical field, whereas the SSC exam will give you a chance to work for the esteemed defence services of India.

    Both are completely different fields and this completely depends on your choice. You want to go towards the science stream or you want to work with the defence services.

    As fancy as a course of biotechnology sounds, what most colleges/universities offer in the name of biotechnology is life sciences. Yes, you heard that right. Biotechnology= Life sciences with a special focus on applied techniques like PCR, Western blot etc. (I. e. if you join a really reputed college). And that is not a bad thing. For e. g. in St. Xaviers Kolkata, you would study genetics, cell Biology bioinformatics, enzymology, immunology, ecology and evolution etc. In the Biotech integrated course.
