I have completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Am I eligible for M.Sc Physics course?

Hi. A postgraduate degree in Physics involves in-depth study of matter, the Motion of matter through space and time, and its related concepts like force and energy. Broadly speaking, it is a general study of nature for understanding the behavior of the universe. The course gives students a scope of developing their problem solving, mathematical, communication skills and critical thinking, which further broadens into interpreting scientific data that is a blessing to scientific researchers. Eligibility criteria for M.Sc. In Physics For Indian candidates, candidates should have a B.Sc. Degree with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks. They also should have a minimum of 24 credits in the chosen specialisation at the undergraduate level. For international candidates, a minimum of 50% is required in the qualifying examination. They also need to have studied the pre-requisite subjects of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics for getting admission to the desired programme. Entrance Exams for M.Sc. In Physics There are entrance examinations for getting admission in M.Sc. In Physics: DUET: Delhi University Entrance exam for Physics is taken in June for which application forms are available from April. CUCET: Central Universities Common Entrance Test is an exam taken by eight central Indian universities. Application forms are available online from April and the exam happens in May. NITTET: The entrance examination in the National Institute of Technology is conducted in June. Application forms are available from April and the exam happens in May. The entrance examination paper has 100 to 150 multiple choice and cross-matching questions. The duration of the examination is 2.5 to 3 hours. Candidates are negatively marked for wrong answers. M.Sc. In Physics Course duration The M.Sc. In Physics course is completed in 2 years. It has a semester system that is distributed annually and the course is therefore divided into 4 semesters. For those who are studying in the correspondence mode, the course can be completed 2 to 3 years.

Please write about the University/ College name for better response. However the eligibility criteria of DU's for M.Sc. Physics is given below for an idea. Eligibility : Undergraduate degree in any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics as two of the Subjects, after the completion of 10+2 scheme. The examination must be recognised as equivalent to that of Delhi University and with the applicant having fulfilled all other conditions of eligibility. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% in Physics and 60% in the overall aggregate. So if meeting the above eligibility criteria then it can be eligible.
